From there, you’ll head out together, learning Nico’s intuitive approach to transforming everyday strangers into compelling characters on camera. You’ll gain the confidence to approach people, the eye to compose emotive portraits, and the instinct to weave depth and storytelling into every frame.

And the learning doesn’t stop when the day ends - your workshop includes three monthly 30-minute online mentoring sessions with Nico, ensuring you continue to refine your skills, stay inspired, and develop your photographic voice long after the workshop.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Portfolio Review & Creative Planning

The workshop begins with a dedicated session reviewing your existing work. Nico will offer constructive, detailed feedback and help you pinpoint the specific skills and narrative elements you most want to develop. This conversation will guide the rest of the day.

Morning Session

After setting your creative focus, you’ll hit the streets of Soho - one of London’s most vibrant backdrops - where Nico will guide you in approaching and engaging with strangers. Expect to work on composition, lighting, and creating a genuine connection with your subjects, all while capturing portraits rich in character and story.

Afternoon Session

The second part of the day takes place in a contrasting location in south-east London, chosen to inspire and challenge you. Here, you’ll refine your techniques, explore more complex compositions, and deepen your understanding of how the environment shapes narrative portraiture.

Closing

Your day ends with a relaxed debrief, looking over key images from the session and discussing strategies for continued growth. You’ll leave with a clear plan for your photography going forward.
